Black Soldier Flies: Fluffy? No. Charming? Definitely.

The words “Black Soldier Fly Larvae” may not exactly leave you salivating. But as an alternative animal feed to fishmeal, their credentials are very impressive.

US Locals

Firstly, they’re US locals, and like all good neighbors they play nice: no biting, stinging or transmitting diseases. And their larvae aren’t fussy eaters, happily converting twice their body weight in food waste into fertilizer every day. So, even if they make unwelcome house guests, you’ve got to admit they’re excellent recyclers.

We handle the bugs, so you can care for your animals

At our state-of-the-art insect farm, we take care of the dirty work, so you don’t have to. This is how it all happens:

1

We collect pre-consumer food waste

From bakeries, juice bars, breweries and the likes, and store it in accordance with USDA and FDA guidelines.

2

We serve it to our hungry Black Soldier Fly Larvae

And they make nutritious fertilizer as they gobble it all up.

3

We dehydrate the larvae to become delicious Grubblies.

Once they’ve reached their protein potential (and before they fly out the door).

Love comes in every color, including yolk

Chickens may not be able to speak, but when our customers rave about the vibrant, creamy yolks they produce, we see it as the ultimate expression of happiness. With our Grubblies Treats on their plate, your chickens get 50x more calcium than they would with mealworms. So, every delicious egg is a little “thank you”, signed with a peck. x
