The frequency of hemp bedding replacement will depend on how you manage your flock. As a general guideline, hemp bedding should be replaced when its full absorbency has been reached. The litter will no longer fluff up when you stir it, and it will feel heavier than dry hemp bedding. The number of chickens you have, the size of their coop, how much time the birds spend inside the coop, and feces management systems will all impact the longevity of the hemp bedding.ย
